How do I create a username?
Your username is how other users will recognize you when sharing recipes or on the leaderboard.
For Email Sign-Up:
1. Click the sign-up form on the login page
2. Enter your email and password
3. Choose a unique username (3+ characters)
4. Click “Sign Up” to create your account
For Google/Facebook Login:
1. Click “Google” or “Facebook” button to sign in
2. After authorization, a username prompt will appear
3. Enter your desired username
4. Click “Continue” to complete setup
How do I update my profile?
Keep your profile up-to-date with your charcuterie journey and preferences.
To Update Your Profile:
1. Click on the “Profile” tab in the navigation menu
2. You can update the following information:
- • Full Name
- • Country
- • Experience Level (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Expert)
- • Favorite Meats (select multiple)
- • Specialties (your signature styles)
3. Click “Save Profile” when finished
Note: Profile photos are currently not supported, but may be added in future updates.
How do I change my password?
Change your password anytime for security or if you’ve forgotten it.
To Change Your Password:
1. Click on the “Profile” tab in the navigation menu
2. Scroll down to the “Change Password” section
3. Enter your new password
4. Confirm your new password
5. Click “Update Password” to save changes
Google/Facebook Users: Your password is managed by Google/Facebook. To change it, go to your Google or Facebook account settings.

How do I update my email address?
Update your email address directly from your profile.
To Update Your Email:
1. Click on the “Profile” tab in the navigation menu
2. Scroll down to the “Change Email” section
3. Enter your new email address
4. Click “Update Email” to save changes
5. You may need to verify the new email address
Important: Make sure you have access to your new email address for verification.
Google/Facebook Users: If you signed in with Google or Facebook, your email is managed through that account. Update it in your Google or Facebook settings.
How do I add a cure to track?
Start tracking your charcuterie projects to monitor weight loss and progress.
Adding a New Cure:
1. Go to the “Dashboard” tab
2. Click the “Add Cure” button
3. Fill in the cure details:
- • Meat type (e.g., Salami, Chorizo, Coppa)
- • Starting weight (in grams)
- • Target weight loss percentage (typically 30-40%)
- • Start date
- • Optional: Notes about your cure
4. Click “Add Cure” to start tracking
Pro Tip: Add notes about your cure recipe, temperature, and humidity for future reference!
How do I record weight-in data?
Track your cure’s progress by recording regular weight measurements.
Recording a Weight Entry:
1. Go to the “Dashboard” tab
2. Find the cure you want to update
3. Click the “Weigh In” button
4. Enter the current weight in grams
5. Click “Save Weight”
What You’ll See:
• Current weight loss percentage
• Progress towards your target
• Visual progress bar
• Weight loss chart (if multiple entries)
• Estimated completion date
Best Practice: Weigh your cures weekly for accurate tracking and trend analysis.
How do I create and save recipes?
Build your personal recipe collection for future reference
Creating a Recipe:
1. Navigate to the “My Recipes” tab
2. Click “Create Recipe”
3. Fill in recipe details:
- • Recipe name (e.g., “Italian Salami”)
- • Meat type and category
- • Ingredients list with quantities
- • Step-by-step instructions
- • Curing time and conditions
- • Optional: Notes and tips
4. Choose privacy: Keep private or share publicly
5. Click “Save Recipe”
Privacy: All recipes are private by default. Only you can see them unless you choose to share.
How do I share my recipes with others?
Share your favorite recipes with the Cure Tracker community!
Sharing a Recipe:
1. Go to “My Recipes”
2. Find the recipe you want to share
3. Click the “Share” button or toggle
4. Confirm you want to make it public
5. Your recipe will now appear in “Shared Recipes” for all users
What Others Can See:
• Your username (recipe creator)
• Recipe name and ingredients
• Instructions and tips
• Number of “likes” the recipe has received
Community: Other users can “like” your recipes to show appreciation!
Unshare: You can make a recipe private again at any time by clicking “Unshare”.
How do I follow other users?
Connect with other charcuterie enthusiasts and discover their recipes.
Following a User:
1. Go to “Shared Recipes” tab
2. Browse recipes from other users
3. When you find a recipe you like, look for the username
4. Click the “Follow” button next to their name
5. You’ll now see their shared recipes prominently displayed

• See all recipes from users you follow
• Get notified when they share new recipes
• Build your personal network of trusted recipe creators
• Easily find and reference their content
Unfollow: Click “Unfollow” at any time to stop following a user.
How do I earn achievements and awards?
Unlock achievements as you progress in your charcuterie journey!
Achievement Categories:
Curing Milestones:
- • Complete 1, 5, 10, 25, 50 cures
- • Achieve perfect 30% weight loss
- • Track cures for consecutive weeks
Recipe Achievements:
- • Create your first recipe
- • Share recipes with the community
- • Receive likes on shared recipes
- • Build a recipe collection (10, 25, 50 recipes)
Social Achievements:
- • Follow your first user
- • Gain followers
- • Like recipes from others
Special Badges:
- • Early Adopter (join in first month)
- • Veteran Curer (1 year anniversary)

View Your Achievements:
- 1. Click on the “Achievements” tab
- 2. See all earned and locked achievements
- 3. View your progress towards each achievement

Recipe Ownership & Sharing
Who owns the recipes I create?
You own all recipes you create. Your recipes remain your intellectual property and are stored securely in your account.
Are my recipes private by default?
Yes! All recipes you create are private by default and visible only to you. No other users can see your recipes unless you explicitly choose to share them.
What happens when I share a recipe?
When you share a recipe, it becomes visible to all users in the shared recipes section. Your username will be displayed with the recipe so others can see who created it. You can choose to share or keep recipes private at any time.
Can I unshare a recipe after sharing it?
Yes, you can unshare a recipe at any time. Once unshared, it will be removed from the shared recipes section and return to being visible only to you.
What information is visible when I share a recipe?
When you share a recipe, other users can see: the recipe name, ingredients, instructions, and your username as the creator. Your email, full name, and other personal information remain private.
